You need StatusNotifier to get the messages. Has this been fixed to show the background?

Does not work on 3.1.2. The status app crashes as soon as you open it. Only the weather shows up. The fate and time are not lined up properly so you see two of each. How do these things get released without proper testing. I mean who is not using at least firmware 3.0 or above.

Maybe the author should "fix" this by incorporating the info on his tutorial into an update (touch the city name to change it?) instead of letting us users have to go through that nonsense.

This is a great widget and it works fine on 3.1.2. I can't believe you people who are complaining are even able to jailbreak your phones. If you guys took the time to do a search on Google you would see that there are multiple websites that show you how to configure and even customize it. Are you guys that lazy?

Reno: If you are going to take the time to complain about the posts, make your post useful and help people out - since you know how. Improve your carbon footprint by being helpful. All: 1) Here is a good tutorial if you want to make the extra effort. <http://www.accuweather.com/world-city-list.asp?loccode=makati+philippines&Submit1=GO!> 2) I can't get the weather applet to work for North America. I've tried Safari (Mac), Firefox (Mac), I.E.8.0 (PC) etc. The weather app just continues to reset. I used this widget: http://www.accuweather.com/default.aspx Messing around I got the url configured, but the directions are not very clear. 3) Even after getting the weather configured and going through the tutorials (have beta Status Nofication up for 3.1) etc, this app isn't working properly w/OS 3.1.2 (7D11). The weather overlaps w/calendar, weather row shows up more than once and the information is all fused together. It seems to crash and, w/enough fooling around you can get the screen to look ok until you return to the screen and have to do it all over again. 4) I've spent enough time trying to get this thing working. I'm uninstalling and going back to Lock Calendar until something better comes along. Developer: I agree with the majority of points here 1) Include instructions. 2) Include a preference screen w/the app. How can you expect people to go through all these hoops for your application? Worse still, another OS update comes out and everyone has to go through all the same steps. Can't expect users to tunnel into the phone to change location when traveling? 3) Comment on 3.0+ support.

Why are you guys getting upset that this app does not work on 3.x Get intelliscreen, it works fine with 3.1.2

  36. Zultar:

Because it is free you goof and intelscreen is not, simple reason. But yes the point as well is if you buy an app you should get better support and all. But if you are going to make such a great app then atleast support it and listen to the users who love it!!!! I will not try this yet and will wait and IMO I don't like intelscreen tried it and would not pay for that....

I've had this working on my 16GB 3GS for a few months now on FW's 3.1/3.1.2 It took quite a bit of hacking and tweaking on my part and I am a NOVICE hacker at best. Using a few tutorials I found on a few blogs I was able to put 97+1 together and get 98% Functionality. 2% Dysfunction 1: Upon launch, the app is REALLY sluggish!!! 2: I cannot get my Lockscreen background to appear. P.S. I haven't really given much attention to battery drainage. The only thing that truly sucks the life out of my battery is WiFi. As I don't have the time to work on a coherent step by step tutorial......I would be more than willing to work with someone on putting one together for the greater good. Anyone interested let me know here and we'll proceed! Cheers!

Can someone work with vdub to get s tutorial online? Intelliscreen is too expensive for an app that blackberry users get free. Apple should have copied that from the start.

You should have status notifier. Search for it on google or Cydia/ Rock. No notifications are gonna show up if you have no pending notifications. I thought that was pretty obvious. So call or text yourself and don't answer it to make sure you have pending notifications. I didn't like the weather either, but to change your city and all, you need to be able to access your phone's file system either directly on your phone with ifile or a similar app, or on your computer via IPhone Browser or some similar program. Again, google it and you can get good at SSH or accessing your phone. It is a little tricky at first for some, but there are plenty of tutorials out there. Don't be so lazy if you are smart enough to do it..... : )
